In the latest ISD Spinnaker release, v2024.06.00, OpsMx continues to refine and enhance its platform with a focus on improving usability, security, and performance. Below is a summary of key enhancements and fixes from this release.

Key Enhancements

1. Enhanced OPA Policy for User Restrictions

The Open Policy Agent (OPA) is improved to prevent users from deleting applications, bolstering security and governance.

2. Improved UI Navigation

A collapse button has been added to the bottom of the side navigation across all pages, offering a cleaner and more user-friendly interface.

3. SSH Key Authentication for GitHub Integration

To enhance security, SSH keys are now supported for GitHub integration, providing an additional method of authentication.

Fixed Issues

1. Datadog Integration

The verification gate log analysis issue and metric generation for oes-gate with Datadog are now resolved.

2. Pipeline Configurations

An issue where large green circles in pipeline configurations were being replaced with question marks during updates has been fixed.

3. Unresponsive Spinnaker UI

The UI freezing problem when interacting with pipelines with a higher number of stages has been resolved, as has an error triggered when viewing certain pipeline executions.

4. User Audit Search Functionality

The search feature in the User Audit page is now fully functional.

5. Miscellaneous UI Fixes

  • The “<” symbol appearing next to the OpsMx icon on the homepage is removed.
  • ISD Group Listing now better restricts visibility to relevant groups.
Spinnaker 1.33.3 Release Highlights

Notable Features

  • TaskView Pagination: The task view now includes an opt-in feature for paginated requests, improving performance for larger task sets.
  • Improved Docker Health Checks: Enhanced health checks reduce the chances of false positives, especially for Docker-based deployments.
  • New Integration Tests: Comprehensive integration tests for PostgreSQL and MySQL have been added, alongside refactored existing containerized tests, to ensure more robust database support.

Critical Fixes

1. Front50 GCS Persistent Store Issues

Spinnaker 1.33.3 introduces a fix for Front50 objects not loading when GCS is used as the persistent store, particularly in dual-repository configurations.

2. Lambda Stages in AWS

Several Lambda-related fixes were made, such as ensuring LambdaRoute stage export and handling excludedArtifactTypes correctly.

3. Pipeline and UI Fixes

  • Validation issues with stageTimeoutMs when using Spel expressions are now fixed.
  • UI bugs related to rendering pipeline graphs with undefined requisiteStageRefIds have been addressed.

4. Liquibase Migration Fixes

ValidChecksum errors arising during Spinnaker upgrades have been resolved with updated checksums and enhanced migration tests.

This release continues to enhance the functionality of Spinnaker, focusing on stability, user interface improvements, and database performance. While many new features are introduced, the release also addresses several bugs, especially around Datadog integrations, GCS, and pipeline configurations.
